About the data

We list lumber yards, hardwood dealers, reclaimed-wood yards, woodworking stores and metal suppliers where an individual can walk in and buy, starting with Tennessee and expanding across the Southeast.

Sources and rules

• Every listing comes from the business's own website, linked on the card, with the date we checked it.
• "Sells to public: Yes, stated" means the business's site says so (quoted on the card). If a site only posts store hours without saying it sells to individuals, we leave that field blank.
• We left out businesses whose sites read as wholesale or trade-only, or that we could verify only through third-party directories.
• Planned sources for expansion: the Wood-Mizer "Find a Local Sawyer" directory (down for maintenance when checked on 2026-10-21), the Primary Forest Products Network, and Tennessee Division of Forestry industry directories. Every entry from them will be confirmed on the business's own site.
